The course focuses on wine cultivation and bottling techniques based on traditional Greek practices and recipes. Participants will gain knowledge and practical experience on conventional as well as organic cultivation of grapes, vine cultivation techniques, pruning systems, and phyto-sanitary methods. Furthermore, they will study wine production based on traditional Greek techniques and cultivation conditions; such as estimation of optimum time for harvest, production and bottling of red, white and DOC wines. Our experts give detailed practical information on aspects of quality control and quality assurance systems in wineries (ISO 22000); as well as communication and commercial negotiation techniques, product planning and placement, branding methods & marketing and exports planning. At the end of the course, participants receive an “ΙΝΝΟΤΟΜΙΑ Education Winery Training Certificate” which certifies acquired knowledge of new techniques and methods. Professionals in the field will find this a valuable asset for the business market, whereas trainee-educators will be able to build an up-to-date professional identity and subsequently teach their students through novel collaborative and creative practices.
Modern approaches are employed for the study of traditional Greek wine development techniques, where trainee-educators be introduced to ways of attracting their students’ interest and maximize learning outcomes. Our methodology is characterized by focused goals, challenging tasks and clear standards of achievement. Our expert trainers aim at enhancing participants’ active engagement in this hands-on training course, which also includes methodologies for preparing effective teaching materials to be used in class. Our main target, however, is for our trainees to develop a deep understanding of traditional Greek wine cultivation. Field visits of local vineyards give course participants the chance to see some fabulous places in Achaia, and to become familiar with Greek cuisine at first-rate restaurants. The visits take place at acclaimed vineyards and give participants the opportunity of a comprehensive insight into cultivation techniques, how to detect grape varieties, training systems etc. The visits of famous Wine Producers Units bring participants close to the wine production process and encourage the exchange of views and experience. Trainees will also learn about marketing development, commercialization abroad and successful exports plans.
Gain expertise on teaching outside the classroom techniques, in an urban, rural, local, national and European context, which trainee-educators can subsequently use to motivate their students. The educational material is based on effective traditional as well as contemporary techniques of wine cultivation of various Greek varieties, and is provided free to all learners in a form of a practical implementation textbook-manual. Our aim is to equip learners from different disciplines with practical tools and expand their knowledge of grapes and wine cultivation, primarily on a European level.
